GMAC Film can come to your youth or community group to deliver bespoke film projects that teach digital and creative filmmaking skills and can also be used to explore a range of other subjects.
Schools
GMAC Film can come to your school to deliver bespoke film projects that teach digital and creative filmmaking skills and can also be used to explore a range of other subjects.
Previous projects include:
GandL Kids Club
An Easter filmmaking school for 9 to 12 year olds from rural South Lanarkshire that took place over 5 days in Wiston Lodge. The young people wrote and produced a short film, ‘Lost and Found’. They learned camera, sound editing and acting skills and the filmmaking equipment remained in the community as a legacy of the project.
Kirkintilloch High School
Anti-sectarian and Anti-smoking filmmaking projects where a short film was made exploring the effects of sectarianism on young people, and an interactive game was developed as part of a no smoking campaign.
John Paul Academy
Shakespeare project where pupils retold the story of Romeo and Juliet in a 5 minute film.
East Dumbartonshire
Filmmaking courses delivered in 7 schools during study leave periods to pupils who were not sitting exams. Participating schools were Douglas Academy, Boclair Academy, St Ninian’s High School, Lenzie Academy, Kirkintilloch High School, Bishopbriggs Academy and Turnbull High School.
Cineclubs
Delivered in partnership with the Glasgow Film Theatre, this 3 year project worked with 12 high schools across Glasgow to train teachers to deliver filmmaking clubs in each school, and delivered free cinema to the pupils at monthly curated screenings at the GFT. Each school received a camera and editing laptop, training and technical support. The Cineclub in each school made 2 films each year that were screened at a festival at the GFT.
