CREATIVE HUB – Trongate 103
Based at Trongate 103 – Glasgow’s flagship arts centre in the heart of the Merchant City, this refurbished and now fully accessible Edwardian warehouse building opened in 2009 and brings together a wide range of arts organisations under one roof. GMAC Film is on the 5th floor with amazing views over the Glasgow rooftops, and is an open access skills and talent development centre for independent filmmakers, young people and professionals working in film. We also deliver training, create content and hire out space making GMAC Film an ideal place for Glasgow’s film community to meet and work.
Over 2,500 people pass through the doors each year, including the 5 creative organisations who have based themselves permanently at GMAC Film. Visiting film and TV production companies hire our production offices on a temporary basis and many groups and individuals choose GMAC Film to host their screenings, workshops and events.
This generates income that supports the work that we do with young people and the independent film community, and creates opportunities for collaboration by connecting young people, filmmakers and industry professionals under one roof.
We are able to offer free and low cost facilities to groups and individuals from our target groups who would otherwise not be able to run their events. In this way GMAC Film’s Creative Hub supports the development of a vibrant and diverse creative sector in Glasgow. It increases access to resources and supports the development of a screen sector that better represents the diversity of the Scotland that we live in.
